 This instrumental EP is a smattering of beats made during the first year of the pandemic, featuring a near-chronological tracklist. The minimalist, Sly Stone-influenced “Quarantine Jam 1” kicks things off, followed up by the RnB inflected “3.29.20.” “Forest Level” is an electronic dance party with Robert Randolph-inspired Moog melodies. “Step On” is a hard-hitting funk escapade performed on a combo clavinet/synthesizer sound; it combines an Arabic Classical musical influence with P Funk, West Coast G Funk, and 2000s Atlanta-inspired drums. “Universal Expansion'' takes listeners on an abstract, linear journey, inspired by Flying Lotus. Album closer, “Samurai Shampoo” unwinds with a mellow, Nujabes-influenced groove and string melody influenced by Egyptian music.
