Jofi-2 is a halftime watercolor dreamscape. A forest at night, a coastline with a few small fires, a child’s conception of space. A walk down a familiar road with headphones on. An airy journey that dips into fire, a raven briefly turned phoenix. The grief-tinged creations play melodies where one can’t find the words. Classical, Jazz, Soul, a style of Funk inspired by Trap, Khaleeji and Gaelic music. Less bass, more piano. Aural drips, bioluminescent brain chemicals sliding from the head to the shoulders.
A trap door hidden in the middle of a stage, if a piece of music can be considered a stage. The empty space in the center of a CD. A sense of humor in fighting against the darkness. An incorporation of that darkness into art, and that art as a release.
