Scatterthoughts
So our heroes appear, washed up on the shore of a desert island far from home
In the churning of generational tides, I see an opening, a crack
A way to make the world that they’ve seen closer to the world that they want it to be
My spirit’s been writhing, reaching towards the light shined by darkness
Slowly as trees bend
Branches
Hanging across timelines
I’ll learn my essence in each one
Whether brimstone or pearl, fashion me like diamonds
Spread the seeds of my truth like reincarnation
Carnations
The way ideas flower
The way the world twist round towards justus
Within each day, I know that I’m the one
To find my way before the darkness comes
I stay up late till I see the morning sun
So I can find my way among everyone
STUPIDITY BURNS HOLES IN MY BRAIN THE WAY MILITARISM CUTS A HOLE IN MY SOUL
*cue the fuzz guitar*
Someone said they’d like to know somebody
And some would say they don’t know what that means
But all I know is that to know somebody, you know the part of your self that can see them for who they are
Who they truly are
